Ford Ford RS Suspension KW DDC CoiloversReplacing Air Suspension
After having some parts fail with my Accuair suspension combined with that company going out of business caused me to consider changing suspension. Accuair supplied a number of wear items and parts that I can no longer source. This is making the system no longer safe or smart to operate, so I am moving to a more conventional spring based suspension. I’ve decided to move to a KW DDC Coilover kit, which has gotten good reviews from the MK3 RS community.
So far the feel, and ride quality seems really good for the KW suspension. I am diagnosing some troubles with the front right having clearance issues with the swaybar endlinks, but overall I am happy with them. The linear spring rate is not the same as the progressive air suspension, but under hard acceleration the car squats well and grips easily and smoothly. I’ll give an update down the road as I get the suspension dialed in, and get some miles on it.

The install went really well, I was perplexed at why one shock had a different bottom of the strut from the other. Below are the front and left front coilover sets.
