I got some work done with the Aeronca Sedan 15AC with Vintage Flying Service which is based at StarGazer airstrip. Not everyone gets the experience of flying, and fewer venture farther away from well-established asphalt airports to explore how aviation used to be, grass strips. One particular gem in Oregon is StarGazer field, sitting right on the edge of a cliff cut by the Sandy River. Below is a 360-degree video of the takeoff and climb-out.
The airspeed builds, and as you shoot off the end of the runway you spill into the valley and it’s just a magical view.
